Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Advanced Technology Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge technology projects, developing and maintaining software and automation systems to support our advanced production processes. SUMMARY:
The Advanced Technology Programmer works closely with Production, Engineering, and Product teams and is responsible for all sheet metal programming through each area of the Smart Factory. In addition to the typical responsibilities of a programmer, this role will also support the Operations team to ensure programming is completed in a timely fashion and executed properly within the innovative and fully connected Smart Factory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Program all sheet metal parts as needed through the Laser/Punch 6000, Laser 7030, Manual Bend 2100s, and Auto Bend Cells 1 & 2.
- Maintain a 5-7 day programming lead ahead of manufacturing needs.
- Support all Machine Operators and assist with programming changes as requested.
- Verify materials and quantities and confirm accuracy of SAP Production Orders before releasing to Oseon.
- Perform parts analysis for producibility/time studies and produce sample parts for custom orders, prototypes, and regular production, including programming and gripper analysis.
- Utilize all hardware, software, and services related to the technology to become a resident expert for the Smart Factory.
- Conduct system walkthroughs from order placement to shipping.
- Create part-time estimates and produce sample parts in the Smart Factory.
- Assist with creating and improving documentation and processes.
- Support real part production using the TRUMPF fabrication software suite.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Previous experience with TRUMPF software and equipment or similar machine tool industry experience required.
- Extensive experience with Solidworks, machine tool product knowledge, and CAD programming and automation is a must.
- Strong knowledge of TRUMPF machine tools.
- Press brake experience is highly desired; automated bending experience preferred.
- CNC punch and laser experience is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and production software systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this position involves regular interaction with production, engineering, product teams, customers, and sales representatives.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from management, customers, and the general public.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Problem-solving skills to define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions and handle abstract and concrete variables.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
