Job Summary:

Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools to perform progressive machining operations on a diversified line of close-tolerance work requiring a varying degree of skill and machining techniques. Machine types include horizontal and vertical manual lathes, knee mills, drill presses, boring bars, boring mills, large milling and turning machines, grinders, and special-purpose machines.

Products vary in size from medium to small work of a complicated nature, with critical and exacting requirements for tolerance, feeds, and speeds. Determining the operational sequence and proper tooling is required. Must be able to diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. The applicant must be able to perform setup operations effectively and efficiently.

Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Ability to use a wide variety of standard and custom precision measuring instruments is required. Some moderate to heavy lifting is necessary. Ability to measure and track specified dimensions is required. Must be able to perform scheduled preventative maintenance and keep the work area and machining centers clean and organized. Perform all other duties as assigned.
