Sit Down Forklift Operator
Job Description
Position Overview: Efficiently retrieve and distribute vendor parts from warehouse to fill shelves, racks, tables for assembly workers to retrieve parts and ensure the production line does not stop due to part shortages.
Responsibilities:Efficiently distribute parts to work stations, using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand carts.
Responsible for retrieving parts orders for assembly and sub-assembly areas.Must proactively work with area supervisors and keep assembly/sub-assembly stocking shelves full.
Utilize TCM and other computer programs to locate material and supplies in warehouse.Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data.
Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms.
Read production schedules and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
Qualifications:1 year material handling experience in manufacturing environment
Forklift Certification
Ability to work independently, as well as with others
High school diploma
Experience with TCM/Workwise MRP a plus
Other:Lift and/or pull 50 lbs or more
Stand and walk for continuous periods of time
Standing or walking 70%
Sitting 15%
Moving or lifting 80%
Work Schedule Work Schedule: General hours for this position are first shift Monday through Thursday, 6a.m.-4:30p.m. and overtime when required (Friday & Saturday).
