A mechanical assembler puts together or fabricates components for machines or mechanical products. In this career, you can work on a production line or assemble complete products in a workshop or factory setting. Your duties and responsibilities vary slightly depending on the products you assemble. In some positions, you read blueprints, gather components, and align them to ensure full functionality. Some assemblers also have testing duties, testing each machine and making adjustments as necessary. In some cases, you use tools to fabricate parts or connect components. You may add lubricants, coatings, or paint as needed.
Experience using basic assembly tools- pneumatic, cordless and hand tools
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
Ability to be trained via verbal instructions
Ability to work on variety of units at the same time
Able to work independently and with others
Must be able to multi task
Drive to push production.
